What Happened:
In this article at a meeting to resolve cattle disputes in South Sudan at least 37 people were killed. To investigate violence from cattle raiding seven U.N staff members and three local officials traveled to Mayendit county. During the meeting Wednesday, the county commissioner from neighboring Lake state appeared and interrupted the meeting, yelling angry remarks at his Mayendit county counterpart, the spokesman said. THE SHOOTING HAPPENED SOON AFTER. The clashes killed at least sixteen people from Unity and twenty one from Lake, including six civilians from both states, the minister of information said.
Why Did It Happen?
The main purpose behind the raids is to steal cattles, a livelihood for the people who live in the barren regions, but the violent clashes end with killings and child abductions.
How Did It Happen ?
The U.N. officer and other staff members were at a meeting trying to stop cattles being stolen. At the meeting they began yelling at each other and got mad at each other and began shooting each other.
My personal Opinion Of The Event:
I think don't it's right that people should be stealing other people property. Also that they should not just shoot each other they should figure out a way to stop it without getting mad at each other. Violence is never a solution to figuring out a problem.
