What happened?

February 8th 2012 al-Shabab posted a video on Youtube telling everybody that they have joined forces with the terrorist group al-Qaida. Al-Shabab has made an allegiance with al-Qaida in the past with the origanal leader Osama Bin Laden. Killed by the U.S. Navy Seals back in May, 2011, he has set an example by posting a video about their power two weeks before he died. Al-Shabab has show loyalty before declaring "At your service Osama!" in a video. Al-Shabab's military consists of paid fighters, clan militias, and conscripts.

Why did it happen?/How did it happen?

  • The two terrorist groups were in a close allegiance already so they decided to just form one big orgaization.


Your personal opinion of the event.

  • I think that we should watch are backs because together the terrorists are more dangerous and with new "pawns" al-Qaida will want to test them out and what better target than the country that killed there best leader Osama Bin Laden.
