When did it take place?
It took place on Friday the third and Saturday the fourth.
What happened?
Twelve people died over two days in clashes btween Egyptian police and protesters amid reports of inadequate security at a soccer match that developed into a riot in which 79 fans were killed. More than 2,500 peopled were injured near the Interior Ministry in Cairo over two days. Another 10 people were in critical condition in Suez hospital. Five were killed in Suez, all by gunshot wounds. Police have charged 52 people in connection with the riots.
Why did it happen?/ How did it happen?
It happened because the stadium didn't have enough security at the soccer match and security let the fans bring in wepons to the stadium. how it happened was that the security let fans come in with wepons and there wasn't enough security to control them all. So fans got smushed up against the steel gate , so they suffocated in the crush of the bodies.
My opinion
My opinion is that the stadiums need more security gaurds, and the security gaurds need to check if the people who come in to the stadium for wepons.
