The people filled Tahrir Square to celebrate that Hosni Mubarak stepped down. Hosni Mubarak is an Egyptian politician and former military officer who served as the fourth President (30 years) of Egypt from 1981 to 2011. He continued to elect himself for president. The Egyptians weren't happy about Hosni Mubarak as he treated people like slaves. On May 24, 2011, Mubarak was ordered to stand trial in Cairo on charges of premeditated murder of protestors during the January revolution. After three decades in power, Hosni Mubarak was forced to step down from his position of being president. After Hosni stepped down, the supreme council of armed forces (Scaf) stepped in and they said they would give Egypt democracy but they didn’t. Instead the military was nondemocratic, and brutal, like Hosni Mubarak they are controlling Egypt.
